Turning thirty wasn't nearly as awful as I thought it would be. Maybe now I can make peace with all of the grey hair that I've been getting. Maybe.
I received thirty skeins of lovely yarn and a gorgeous new knitting basket. I am imagining many nights snuggled up on the couch with a hot cup of tea, Netflix, and my knitting needles. Such simple things bring such great happiness.
My own copy of the Encyclopedia of Northwest Native Plants is in transit. I've been geeking out over this book for a few weeks now. I no longer have to worry about my renewals running out, or having someone else place a hold on it at the library. I'm relieved in a big way.
Logan and I went out on our first date in six months. Yes, you read that right. Six months. We went foraging for native plants in the wild and brought home a few little treasures like woodland strawberry...
and Oregon iris.
Afterwards we went out to McMenamins for appetizers and a beer/cocktail. I've been wanting to give that place a try for a while now. I recommend the Dog Days of Summer. They'll have to look it up in the book and it may take a while, but it's very much worth it.
Thirty, you're looking pretty good.
