This bathrobe is for Phoenix, the new "big" brother to be. We're on the home stretch now with only three more weeks to go. I am in crazy nesting mode, as pointed out by a lady working at my local independent craft store. She has seen me more times than I would like to admit over the past couple of weeks.
I really liked this pattern because, um, it was so easy... and it had a hood. Hoods are cute on little kids. What more can I say? It's Kwik Sew # 3509 and comes in sizes T1 - T4. I made the T3 size (a little big for him) so Phoenix can get quite a bit of use out of it. This size called for 1.5 yards of fabric for the interior (I used 100% cotton terry cloth) and 1.5 yards of fabric for the exterior (I used a quilters cotton). I really wanted a more vivid yellow terry - this one is more buttery. I couldn't find what I wanted locally, and didn't have the patience to wait for shipping this time around, so it is what it is.

If ever I were to fall in love with a fabric, this just might be the one. Those cute little bunnies, foxes, owls, snails, deer, and squirrels just melt my heart. Oh, and the mushrooms, leaves, and acorns are awesome too. I love the fact that they look like they could be from a Japanese designer, but they're not, and it doesn't come with an insane price tag to match. You can get this fabric for the same price as any other quilters cotton. I found a place online called the Fabric Shack which carries this fabric (Woodland Friends by Kate Honarvar) along with several of the colorways and coordinates.
For those of you who might be wondering if Isaiah is going to get a new big brother bathrobe as well, of course he is. I actually started his first, but cut the fabric incorrectly (ARGH!) and didn't have enough to make up for the error and finish it. I'm going back to said craft store to pick up more fabric today, so you will see that one coming soon.

That is the most adorable robe! Beautifully done.
Congrats on your pregnancy your little one will be here very soon!

This robe is adorable! I am really impressed and even more so that you've got 3 weeks to go and doing this. You should be vegging out (at least thats what I did). Good luck!
